South Korea’s Mi Hyang Lee survived a chaotic and unpredictable final round to win the 2026 Blue Bay LPGA in Hainan Island, China.
Lee entered the day in strong position at -13, but had some early struggles. After a birdie on the first hole, Lee proceeded to make two bogeys, two double bogeys and just one additional birdie to go out in 40.
At one point, Lee’s countrywoman Hye Jin Choi got into the lead around the turn thanks to not one but two incredible eagle hole outs on the fifth and 10th hole. Choi made too many mistakes though with four bogeys in the round and a double.
Lee straightened her game out on the back nine, making three birdies with no dropped shots on the back nine, including a clutch, tournament-clinching birdie on 18.
China’s Weiwei Zhang was the closest chaser after a -2 front nine that was bolstered by two birdies and an eagle. She fell off late though, with a bogey on 17 and par on 18.
Lee hit just seven fairways and 11 greens in her round, but had only 27 putts, contributing to her fantastic overall performance on the greens for the week, where she had only 105 for the four rounds.
This was Lee’s, 32, third win of her career but first since the 2017 Scottish Open. She is currently ranked No. 83 in the world but should move up dramatically with this win.
