Heading into the final round Sunday at The Aramco Championship, Lauren Coughlin leads Nelly Korda by two strokes at Shadow Creek near Las Vegas.
Coughlin and Korda are certainly showing their knowledge of one of the most demanding courses on the LPGA Tour schedule, navigating the brutally difficult conditions to separate from the pack. Coughlin was the runner-up here in 2025 and Korda won in 2024. Coughlin currently sits at -7, Korda at -5 and nobody else better than -3.
Coughlin’s round started a bit shaky, but she avoided any massive mistakes, entering the day with a five-stroke lead. Coughlin made two early bogeys but got her round going with a birdie on the par 5 seventh. She got another one on 11 before she hit another skid.
She made bogeys on 13 and 14 before recovering with a few pars and a birdie on the difficult par 5 18 to shoot +1 for the day.
Korda on the other hand, started off hot. She made birdies on the third and fourth holes thanks to some solid putting before making a lot of pars. While she left some strokes out on the course in this stretch, she was staying safe in comparison to the rest of the field. She did make one mistake on the difficult 15th hole, going left of the green on her approach, but she managed well still giving herself a decent look at par and making bogey.
On the par 3 17, Korda hit one of the best shots of the day, leading to a tap in birdie and then followed that up with another birdie on 18. She shot -3 on a day where scores were super high.
Korda will now play in the final group for her third week in a row. Her and Coughlin will go off in the afternoon in a battle of two United States Solheim Cup stars.
