The newest edition of the CME Standings are out, and there is a change at the top. Here are some of the most prominent changes in the season long Race to the CME Globe:
- Nelly Korda has moved up to No. 1 in the CME Standings after her third consecutive runner-up finish. Korda has played in four events and hasn’t finished lower than second place. Korda’s 1,415 points would be enough to finish No. 18 in the season end standings in 2025 and it would be No. 13 in 2024, just to put into perspective how impressive this start to the year has been.
- With her impressive performance at Shadow Creek, Lauren Coughlin of course made a huge jump in the CME Standings, going up 86 spots to No. 8. Not only was this her first win in four starts, it was her first finish in the top 25.
- Leona Maguire’s didn’t just get her first top-15 finish since the Evian Championship last year, she tied for second with Korda at Shadow Creek, playing solid, consistent golf all week. Maguire looks like a completely different player with a new diet as was revealed on the TV coverage and a much more ferocious looking swing. Keep an eye on her to have a nice bounce back season.
- Akie Iwai quietly had a fantastic final round to grab a backdoor top-five finish. Because the tournament was such a blowout, we didn’t see much of the young star from Japan on Sunday, but she shot a -3 round on a day where scores were super high. Iwai moved up 12 spots to No. 20 in the standings this week.
- After a couple missed cuts the last two weeks, Carlota Ciganda essentially got on the board this week with a top-10 finish at Shadow Creek. She moved up 53 spots in the rankings to No. 61, right around the border. It is early in the season, but this could be a huge result come the end of the year.
