The 2024 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions has many of the LPGA stars we are accustomed to seeing at the event. Players like Lydia Ko, Nelly Korda, Brooke Henderson and Danielle Kang have been fixtures at the tournament from its beginning in 2019. But this year, the field was given some much needed depth, thanks to the flood of first time winners in 2023.
Reigning LPGA Tour Player of the Year, and two-time major champion Lilia Vu headlines the group of players new to this event, but is also joined by major champions Ruoning Yin and Allisen Corpuz. Celine Boutier of France is the lone 2023 major champion not in the field this week.
Joining the new major champions are some of the rising stars that LPGA fans got to see a lot more of in 2023. Linn Grant, Rose Zhang, Alexa Pano and Grace Kim are all young stars in the making that broke out to grab their first victories on tour last season.
2023 Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year Hae Ran Ryu won at the Northwest Arkansas Championship last season in order to earn her spot here. Ryu isn’t unaccustomed to pressure though as she previously had five titles on the LPGA of Korea.
Of course, making her long-awaited debut is Megan Khang. Khang had one of the best moments on tour last year, winning her first career event in Portland. It was a long time coming, as Khang has been on the tour since 2016 and was largely considered the best player without a win.
The tournament will take place Jan. 18 – Jan. 21 at Lake Nona Country Club in the Orlando, Florida area. This will be the third season Lake Nona plays host to the event, the fifth time it hosts an LPGA event in total. Eight of the top-15 players in the Rolex Ranking are in the field.
