Megha Ganne, a former amateur superstar at Stanford, won for the first time on the Epson Tour in a playoff at the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic.
Ganne got off to an okay start in the first round with a 68, but really made her big move Saturday, where she shot 63 after hitting 17 greens and making nine birdies on her first 13 holes. That explosive second round got her in position to compete for the win.
On Sunday, Ganne started quick once again with birdies on the first three holes to rocket up the leaderboard. Despite a couple front nine bogeys, Ganne still shot 33 on the opening nine.
On the back, Ganne once again hit a hot streak, making four birdies in a row between holes 11 and 14. While she made a bogey on the par 4 18th, she still did enough to enter a playoff with Thailand’s Cholcheva Wongras.
The two tied the first playoff hole with birdies, but a par on the second hole was enough to hand Ganne her first win as a professional.
This was Ganne’s seventh start on the Epson Tour after turning pro earlier this year. She has made five cuts, has two top-10 finishes plus an additional 12th place finish. She now ranks No. 15 in the Race for the Card standings, which puts her in position to earn her card with just a few events left to go.
Ganne is probably still most known to most fans for her near win at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open when she was just. 17-years-old. She went on to have a terrific career at Stanford and won the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur.
