The United States Solheim Cup team that will be heading to the Netherlands next month is officially starting to take shape ahead of the complete team announcement next week with Yealimi Noh and Auston Kim joining the team.
Kim and Noh’s places on the team were announced Sunday morning, as they join Nelly Korda, Jennifer Kupcho and Angel Yin, already announced to have qualified.
Kim, the 25-year-old originally from New York, who played her college golf at Vanderbilt, becomes the first Solheim Cup rookie on the United States team.
Despite no wins yet in her career, Kim has been very successful in her almost three full years on the LPGA Tour. She has 12 top-10 finishes, including three in majors. Two of those major top 10s have come this season, as she was fifth at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and ninth at the Amundi Evian Championship. In addition to those top 10s, she also had two top-three finishes early in this season and has missed just four cuts during a rough stretch in the middle of the year.
Most notable about Kim perhaps is her incredible distance, that could make her a dangerous weapon for Angela Stanford. Kim has ranked third on the LPGA Tour in driving distance each of the past two seasons as she hits it over 280 yards off the tee.
Noh will be making her second Solheim Cup team after a solid performance in 2021 where she went 2-1. Noh did much of the heavy lifting for points in 2025, where she had five top-10 finishes and a win. The 25-year-old from California hasn’t been nearly as strong in 2026, where she has just one top-10 finish and seven missed cuts.
The real clincher to get on this team though was the lone top 10 though, just a couple weeks ago at the AIG Women’s Open. Noh finished third after holding the 54-hole lead. She is currently having another good week in Portland and is bringing positive form into Solheim season.
The final tournament to qualify for the United States Solheim Cup team is next weekend in Canada.
