The 2026 Curtis Cup is set to enter its second day, once again comprising first of three fourball matches in the morning, followed by foursomes in the afternoon. Here are our predictions for Saturday fourball:
8:30 – Jasmine Koo and Farrah O’Keefe vs Beth Coulter and Isla McDonald-O’Brien
Coulter and McDonald O’Brien were impressive in their first match of the week, taking down the powerhouse United States pairing of Kiara Romero and Asterisk Talley by winning the final four holes of the round. Now, they face Koo and O’Keefe, the latter being the unquestioned MVP so far for the United States. While Coulter and McDonald-O’Brien were impressive in the face of pressure, and O’Keefe and Koo certainly had their Friday struggles on the back nine especially, I see this as a good opportunity for an early red point.
Prediction: United States full point
8:42 – Anna Davis and Avery Weed vs Sophia Fullbrook and Patience Rhodes
Anna Davis had a much needed bounce back after a fairly rough front nine in the morning session, and she did, playing well over the final round and a half. She will face Fullbrook and Rhodes once again, this time with Avery Weed as her partner. Fullbrook and Rhodes on the other hand started very hot Friday and limped a bit the rest of the way, clearly having a bit of a weakness on the back nine at Bel-Air Country Club. Benefit of the doubt still sits with the best duo GB&I has, but I don’t see a full point here.
Prediction: Halve
8:54 – Kiara Romero and Asterisk Talley vs Lily Hirst and Nellie Ong
Despite their struggles in the foursomes portion Friday, I still think United States fans should have total faith in the teaming of Romero and Talley. Both are so skilled and I think showed some fatigue in the second match with how much their games fell on the back nine. Look for them to get off to a hot start once again and not look back. I do like the pairing of Hirst and Ong though. Ong has tremendous touch around the greens but we saw her visibly frustrated throughout much of the back nine in foursomes yesterday. Keep an eye out for that.
