The top seven Solheim Cup players are all settled. Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Auston Kim, Yealimi Noh, Lauren Coughlin and Allisen Corpuz are on the team.
Based off finishes in the early stretches of the CPKC Women’s Open, Andrea Lee and Alison Lee will take the last two spots on Rolex Rankings.
What three players should take up captain Angela Stanford’s picks? We make our selections here:
Megan Khang:
Stanford does not have to overthink anything with her first pick. Khang is a Solheim Cup superstar through and through. She hasn’t lost a full point in her last eight matches played. She matches up well with almost everyone on the team, including Nelly Korda and Alison Lee. She should also be a fantastic person to pair with rookies like Auston Kim. Khang is not only one of the best players on the team, she is also a superstar leader and should be an obvious choice for Stanford even if she isn’t playing well as of late.
Rose Zhang:
I think most people agree that Rose has a guaranteed spot on this team alongside Khang. Zhang hasn’t shown consistent form this season, but she did have a great, grind-it-out week in Portland last week, placing Top 10.
Stanford probably encouraged Zhang to get some rest this week because her spot is secure. If that wasn’t the scenario, it should have been. Though Zhang had a poor first showing in the Solheim Cup in 2023, going 0-2-1, she followed that up by being arguably the best player in 2024 going 4-0-0. Combining that performance last time out, along with her age at still just 23-years-old, Zhang should be an easy pick.
Kiara Romero:
I am just throwing it out there, I think Romero should be on this United States team. She just turned 20-years-old, and undoubtedly will be a fixture on this team over the next decade. For over a year she has been the top ranked amateur, and Angela Stanford was gifted with Romero earning LPGA Tour status and being eligible for this team.
Stanford seemed hesitant to pick her during the Saturday coverage of the CPKC Women’s Open, where she appeared in the broadcast booth. I still think Romero gives both a good look at the future, but also immediate upside. Romero has fantastic skills and showed them off in the 2026 Curtis Cup. Romero has also shown up in big moments, like the U.S. Women’s Open, and should get rewarded for that.
Alternates: Lindy Duncan and Jenny Bae
It is obvious the United States will need alternates. Angel Yin has missed the last month with a non-injury issue and Rose Zhang had a back injury in Portland.
Lindy Duncan is just going to miss out on Rolex Ranking points to Alison Lee. She has been in qualifying position for over a year and earned her place in contention. Recent play is keeping her out of my personal rankings, but she could bring big energy to this team as a first-time player.
Jenny Bae is a good young player who has given good results in 2026. She hasn’t necessarily earned her place on a team with a lot of experienced athletes, but she has played well enough to get into the conversation. She should have a chance to make this team in the worst case scenario.
