The United States has finalized its eight-player Curtis Cup team that will compete at Bel-Air Country Club in June.
The first four players were previously announced as Asterisk Talley, Anna Davis from Auburn, Kiara Romero from Oregon and Farah O’Keefe from Texas.
Joining those four amateur superstars will be Kary Hollenbaugh from Ohio State, Kelly Xu from Stanford, Jasmine Koo from USC and Avery Weed from Mississippi State.
Each of the eight players are currently ranked in the top 40 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings with three of them, Romero (1), O’Keefe (5) and Talley (8), ranked in the top 10.
Koo, O’Keefe and Romero are all among the 10 finalist for the Annika Award, given to the top women’s golfer in the NCAA. Talley and O’Keefe have also shown solid recent form not only in amateur play, but also on the LPGA Tour. O’Keefe was in contention early in the week at the Chevron Championship and Talley has made two cuts at the professional level in two starts.
The Curtis Cup is a bi-annual event that pits the best amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland against the best from the United States.
