Session two was dare I say even more dominant for the United States than the first, as they leave the opening day of the 2024 Solheim Cup with a record 6-2 lead.

Quick Takeaways:
- Nelly Korda may have just had one of the great days in Solheim Cup history. She was great in her opening foursomes with Allisen Corpuz, but truly looked like the best in the world alongside Megan Khang. Everything was working correctly in her game and she put on a show.
- Would love to see Khang and Korda in the afternoon again. The two close friends electrified the crowd and seemingly infused energy into every person on property in red, white and blue.
- Puzzling decision to only play Maguire once today by Suzann Pettersen. By the time she got out to the tee it already felt like she wasn’t fully in the match, same goes for Georgia Hall.
- Anna Nordqvist leaves the first day as easily Europe’s strongest performer. The veteran was consistent, keeping her and Sagström in that match, before an explosive finish that gave Europe its only point of the afternoon.
- Nothing more you can say about the two Solheim Cup rookies Coughlin and Schmelzel, who once again were wildly impressive. Both have played in each session and are 2-0. All four Americans who played both sessions went undefeated.
- Rose Zhang and Andrea Lee completely controlled the tone of their match. Charley Hull and Linn Grant never had an opportunity to get fired up and light a fire. Zhang kept them in it with her phenomenal putting and Andrea Lee came in clutch on the final few holes, including a near walk-off albatross. Fantastic work for a team that on paper seemed to be at a disadvantage.
- Cannot say enough about Stacy Lewis. This team is playing with more energy than any recent United States team we’ve seen. Assistant captains have praised Lewis this week for balancing the fun and the focus. That is translating to the team.
- Once again, the United States has had large leads in this event as recently as last year and lost. They must keep the foot on the gas pedal and finish.
