Nelly Korda looked every bit of the best player in the world all weekend in Houston, winning her second Chevron Championship, third major and 17th LPGA Tour event of her career.
Korda Was dominant all week, maintaining a four-stroke lead from early on Friday and never letting anyone get closer. In the end, she shot -18, five strokes clear of major champions Patty Tavatanakit and Ruoning Yin. She is the first player ever to win two LPGA Tour majors with a score of -18 or better.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing on Sunday for Korda though. After another fast start with two birdies on her first three holes, she certainly took her foot off the gas pedal. Korda made eight pars in a row and had her first dropped shot of the day on 12, which made it a four-stroke lead.
With Tavatanakit and Yin not mounting much of a comeback, Korda wasn’t in any danger despite the safer play. Still, she went out and made birdies on 13 and 14 after some incredible shots left her tap ins. On 15, she made a lengthy putt for par that essentially sealed the deal.
Despite not needing much, Korda hit a phenomenal final putt on 18 to make par after having a tough tee shot and approach.
Korda did much of her damage on the first two days, reaching a score of -14 in just two rounds. No other player finished at that number for the entire week.
Korda is the seventh American in history to win her third major before the age of 28. She is the first since Amy Alcott did so in 1983. Korda sits just five points away from reaching LPGA Hall of Fame eligibility. This is Korda’s second victory of 2026, she hasn’t finished worse than runner-up in five starts.
