Amari Avery won the 2026 IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa over the weekend in Beaumont, Calif., right near where she grew up in Southern California. She defeated 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur winner Carla Bernat Escuder by one stroke.
Avery raced out to a great start in the first round on Friday, making five front nine birdies, and adding three more on the back nine. She did have a few stumbles, with a double bogey on 14 and a bogey on the closing hole. She was near flawless from there though.
Avery made just one more bogey throughout the week, the last coming on her seventh hole on Saturday. She shot -4 68 in the second round thanks to some elite ball striking numbers.
Sunday was a fairly safe final round, making one birdie on the front and another on the back, but 16 pars surrounding them. It was enough to clinch her first professional win though for the USC Trojan.
Avery now leads the Race for the Card standings after nearly earning an LPGA Tour card in 2025.
