The final round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeltine is currently in a weather delay.
There are storms this Sunday in Minneapolis, with the first groups still not off on the course. At the time of publishing, this delay has already lasted nearly an hour with the radar looking bad. There is not even going to be an update until 9 AM local time. The absolute soonest it may begin is 9:15-9:30, which is about the time the final group was supposed to tee off.
The final round has been put in groups of three off both tees in order to attempt to finish within the TV coverage window, ending around 3:00 central, when the PGA Tour will begin on NBC. That is obviously in danger now, and the final round will likely go over to streaming on Peacock.
Thanks to a -4 round, and a +3 round from third-round leader Ina Yoon, has given Haeran Ryu a one-stroke lead over Brooke Henderson at -11. Ryu is looking for her fourth LPGA Tour win and first major championship.
Nelly Korda, looking for her third major championship in a row, and fifth overall, sits four strokes back. There are some similarities to her 2024 win at the Chevron Championship, including a leaderboard featuring Haeran Ryu and Brooke Henderson, and some rain and poor weather.
In general, Korda is known as a strong player in bad weather, and the course will likely play much longer Sunday, which should benefit long players like herself.
It looks like it should clear up around 9:30 local time, with no more rain expected until around 6 PM, so without a doubt, tournament officials will likely try to get the players out fast.
