Yana Wilson the 19-year-old star from the Las Vegas area, won her second event of the season at the Dream First Bank Charity Classic in Kansas.
The round was anything but smooth sailing. Wilson came into the round three back, and it didn’t get any better early. After three pars to get the round started, she came up to the par 5 4th. Wilson went on to make a triple bogey 8 to dip to -3 for the tournament, +3 for the day.
Credit to Wilson, she responded in a way well beyond her years. Wilson made four birdies in a row immediately after the triple, making the turn at -1 for the day. On the back, she continued to excel, making four more birdies without any bogeys to win by two strokes.
This is Wilson’s second win of the season, she won earlier this year in her hometown. Wilson was one of the most prominent amateurs in the world, most notably winning the 2023 Mizuho Americas Open junior division.
Wilson will be making her way to the LPGA Tour in 2026, currently ranking No. 1 in the Race for the Card Standings. She is the highest ranking player who has not already earned her card. This was Wilson’s seventh finish in the top six in 15 starts.
