There was a time when shopping for women’s golf apparel meant settling. We settled for a handful of skorts, a few predictable polo shirts, and maybe one or two brands that truly understood how women wanted to dress. Golf fashion often felt like an afterthought, with women’s collections receiving far less attention than men’s. Today, that conversation has completely changed. And the numbers tell us exactly why.
Women’s golf apparel is projected to grow 6.32% annually through 2030. Female-specific apparel accounted for 31% of total golf apparel demand in 2025. Nearly 44% of all new golf apparel launches over the past year were designed specifically for women, and women now represent 28% of all on-course golfers. Those aren’t just impressive statistics. They’re proof that women are no longer a niche customer. We’re becoming one of the most influential forces shaping the future of golf.
More Women Means More Opportunity
As participation continues to climb, brands can no longer afford to treat women’s collections as an afterthought. Instead of simply shrinking men’s polos and calling them women’s apparel, companies are investing in female designers, technical fabrics, better fits, and collections created specifically for how women play, and how they want to look while playing. That’s why we’re seeing an explosion of exciting new brands entering the market. From streetwear-inspired labels like Malbon, fashion-forward collections from Lacoste, elevated contemporary brands like, GFore and modern takes on classic golf style from brands like Tilley, today’s choices are unlike anything we’ve seen before. Competition is fueling creativity. And women are benefiting.
Small Brands Are Leading the Way
One of my favorite things happening right now isn’t coming from the biggest companies. It’s coming from smaller, independent brands. Many of these emerging labels are intentionally keeping their collections smaller and more curated. Instead of producing dozens of styles every season, they’re focusing on thoughtfully designed pieces that reflect their identity and speak directly to today’s golfer. That allows them to move faster, experiment with fresh colors and silhouettes, and create collections that feel intentional rather than overwhelming. It’s also changing the way we shop. Women aren’t necessarily buying more. We’re buying better. We’re looking for quality, versatility, and pieces that fit seamlessly into our lifestyles both on and off the course.
Golf Fashion Has Become Lifestyle Fashion
One of the biggest reasons for this growth is that golf apparel has evolved far beyond the 18th hole. Today’s golfer wants clothing that performs during a morning round but also looks just as good meeting friends for lunch, traveling, running errands, or heading to dinner afterward. Performance is still expected. But style has become equally important. Technical fabrics, elevated tailoring, relaxed sophistication, and thoughtful layering have become the new standard. Golf apparel has become part of everyday fashion, and women are embracing brands that allow them to move effortlessly between sport and lifestyle without changing outfits.
Even Lululemon Has Entered the Ring
Perhaps one of the clearest signs of where women’s golf is headed is the arrival of brands that historically weren’t part of the golf conversation.
Take Lululemon. For years, women golfers mixed and matched pieces from the brand’s training and athleisure collections because the fit, comfort, and quality were already there. But recently, Lululemon made a more intentional move into golf with a curated collection designed specifically for the course. To me, that’s significant. When one of the world’s most recognized athletic apparel companies decides that women’s golf deserves its own collection, it’s more than a product launch, it’s validation. It shows that women golfers have become a customer worth investing in. Lululemon’s entrance also raises the bar for everyone else. Established golf brands are challenged to continue innovating, while emerging brands keep pushing the boundaries with fresh ideas, unique aesthetics, and thoughtfully curated collections. Healthy competition benefits everyone. Especially us.
We’re Voting With Our Wallets
Every time we choose to support a brand that understands women golfers, we’re sending a message.
- Design for us.
- Listen to us.
- Keep creating.
The rapid growth of women’s golf apparel isn’t happening by accident. It’s happening because more women are playing, purchasing, sharing, influencing, and introducing new golfers to the game. We’re supporting brands that reflect our lifestyles, and in return, those brands are investing even more into women. It’s a cycle that’s fueling incredible growth.
The Future Has Never Looked Better
As someone who follows women’s golf fashion every week, I honestly believe we’re witnessing a turning point. We’re seeing more creativity than ever before. More women-owned brands. More individuality. More inclusive sizing. This is big, We now have options for the tall person with long legs and the for those who have always needed things shortened in the past. More fashion influences are crossing over from athletic wear, luxury fashion, and lifestyle apparel. The statistics tell us where we are today. What excites me even more is what those numbers represent.
Every percentage point means more women discovering this incredible game. More brands investing in us. More designers creating collections specifically with women in mind. More opportunities for every golfer to express her own unique style. We’re no longer asking the golf industry to notice women. The industry already has. If these numbers are any indication, the next five years may very well become the most exciting era women’s golf fashion has ever seen. As someone who has been writing about women’s golf fashion, I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
