Two United States Solheim Cup stars, Lizette Salas and Jessica Korda, will be making their long-awaited returns to the LPGA Tour this week at the Ford Championship in Arizona.
Salas, 36, is a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour who has played on five United States Solheim Cup teams, building up an 8-7-3 record. She has 38 career top-10 finishes and three runner-ups in major championships. She’s seen as one of the more consistent players in recent LPGA Tour history, known mostly for her accurate hitting and strong putting.
Salas has dealt with injuries for years, including prominent back issues in 2023. Over the last year, she has been on the staff of Laverne University as an assistant coach for the women’s golf team. Salas hasn’t played on the LPGA Tour since July of 2024.
Korda, 33, made her return in part at the Grant Thornton Invitational, but this will be her first appearance in a solo LPGA Tour event since May of 2023. Korda has dealt with significant injuries along with giving birth to her first child in 2024.
Korda is a six-time winner on the LPGA Tour and is generally considered to be one of the best players in the world without a major champion. She is also the older sister of Nelly Korda, the No. 2 ranked player in the Rolex Rankings.
