It is time for the Dow Championship, played in Michigan, this is the only partners event on the LPGA Tour. This is a heavily unpredictable week as chemistry can triumph over all other factors, and the leaderboards here are always interesting. Here are the five teams most likely to win the 2025 Dow Championship:
No. 5 – Ariya Jutanugarn and Moriya Jutanugarn – While Moriya hasn’t been the strongest performer since her win at the Portland Classic last year, these two have plenty of experience on this golf course. The Jutanugarns have paired up every year in this event, and won it in 2021. Ariya is in solid form, so expect the sister duo to play well in 2025.
No. 4 – Jennifer Kupcho and Leona Maguire – This is a fun one for fans of college golf as the former in-state rivals, Kupcho from Wake Forest, Maguire from Duke, tee it up together here. Kupcho is always at her best with an energetic partner beside her, as has been proven with her previous success in this event with Lizette Salas and Ally Ewing. Both players come into this in solid form, so expect a good showing.
No. 3 – Megan Khang and Lexi Thompson – I really love this pairing of Solheim Cup stars. Like Kupcho, Thompson excels with an energetic force playing alongside her, and nobody brings more energy or positivity than Khang. These two are 2-0-0 when paired up together in Solheim Cups and Thompson comes into this week in terrific form after a couple great finishes.
No. 2 – Akie Iwai and Chisato Iwai – For the first time in event history we have twins playing together. Chisato already has a win in her rookie season and performed terrifically last week. Akie remains in good form and is playing for a lot with a potential International Crown spot on the line. These two can get into trouble on the golf course, they aren’t the most consistent players yet, but the upside is really high.
No. 1 – Jeeno Thitikul and Ruoning Yin – There’s really no other choice here. The two superstar best friends are ranked No. 2 and No. 4 in the world respectively and have phenomenal chemistry on and off the golf course. Both players also come in playing well after solid finishes last week and won this event in 2024. Easy choice here.
