Earlier today in Scotland, Scottie Scheffler’s incredible 78 cuts made streak ended at the Scottish Open. The longest made-cut streak on the LPGA Tour came to an end just a couple hours later.
It seems a bit fitting for them to come the same weekend, as Korda and Scheffler have been compared so often over their last few dominant seasons.
Korda’s streak wasn’t nearly as long as Scheffler’s. Her streak was at 35 consecutive made cuts that date back to the 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, which was a part of a three consecutive missed cut streak in the middle of her seven-win, Player of the Year winning season.
Korda dug herself into a hole with poor play Thursday at Evian that put her at +3. Throughout the second round, the cut was moving between +1 and even par, a tall task on a tricky course.
For her part, Korda did perform much better Friday, making birdies on the two par 5s on the front nine and adding another on the 12th to get within the cut line. It appeared, with the very scoreable last few holes at Evian, that she was safely in.
Coming down the stretch though, Korda had a tough par on the par 5 15th, a bogey on 17 and a bad drive on 18 took going for the green in two out of play.
In the end, a mid-length birdie putt came up just a couple inches short. That close to continuing her streak and incredible play this season.
This isn’t it for Korda in Europe though, as she is slated to try and get back on track at the Scottish Open before the season’s final major, the AIG Women’s Open.
