Two LPGA veterans who had strong 2024 LPGA Tour seasons are being honored with awards at the upcoming 2024 Rolex LPGA Awards ceremony, held Wednesday Nov. 20.
Lydia Ko, who has won three LPGA Tour events in 2024, including her third-career major at the AIG Women’s Open, and the Olympic Gold medal at the Paris Games, will be receiving the 2024 Heather Farr Perseverance Award.
The Heather Farr Perseverance Award honors an LPGA Tour player who, through her hard work, dedication and love of the game of golf, has demonstrated determination, perseverance and spirit in fulfilling her goals as a player.
Ko’s 2024 season also resulted in history, becoming the first LPGA Tour player since Inbee Park to qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame after her victory at the Olympics.
The Heather Farr Perseverance Award honors former player Heather Farr, who died on Nov. 20, 1993, following a long battle with breast cancer. Ariya Jutanugarn, Jessica Korda and Jane Park are among other winners.
Ally Ewing, who will be retiring from full-time play at the end of the season, will receive the 2024 Founders Award. The Founders Award is given to an LPGA Member who, in the opinion of her playing peers, best exemplifies the spirit, ideals and values of the LPGA through her behavior and deeds.
Ewing has had a strong year, which peaked when she was a member of the 2024 United States Solheim Cup team that defeated Europe. The general consensus of Ewing’s teammates was that she was among the emotional leaders of the team.
Among the previous winners of The Founders Award are Karrie Webb, Brooke Henderson, Juli Inkster, Lydia Ko and Lexi Thompson.
