After five years at Hoakelei Golf Club, the LPGA’s annual stop to Hawaii is moving to a new course in 2027, and it is one many golf fans should be familiar with.
Starting in 2027, The Plantation Course at Kapalua will be the new host of The Lotte Championship. The Plantation Course is most known for being the host of The Tournament of Champions on the PGA Tour from 1999-2025 before the tournament came to an end.
The Plantation Course is on Maui at Kapalua Resort, where its sister course The Bay Course hosted an LPGA Tour event in 2007. It is arguably the most famous golf course in Hawaii and features stunning views of the ocean and mountains in the surrounding area.
LPGA Tour commissioner Craig Kessler has spoken at length about improving the venues on the LPGA Tour schedule, and this certainly fits the bill. The newly created Hawaiian swing in general will be a big boost to the Tour, with events hosted both at The Plantation Course, which Golf Digest ranks as the No. 23 public course in the country, as well as Nanea Country Club, which Golf Digest has as the No. 59 overall course in the United States.
Jeeno Thitikul won the most recent playing of The Lotte Championship against a fairly weak field, that should change with the two, high-profile courses joining the LPGA Tour in Hawaii in 2027.
The 2027 Lotte Championship will be played March 15-21 2027.
