Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp have maintained a two-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Grant Thornton Invitational in Naples, Florida.
Tavatanakit and Knapp entered the second round with a one-stroke lead, but advanced that to multiple strokes thanks to solid play in the every other shot format.
Patty T and Knapp played fantastic Saturday, shooting -6, the second best of any team in the field on the day. For the round they had seven birdies with just one bogeys in a really difficult format. The round was a story in consistency, where both players just consistently hit solid shots.
In second place, two strokes behind, are Jeeno Thitikul and Tom Kim, who had an incredible day. The powerhouse duo shot a startling -8 for the day, an incredible score in this format. They had one bogey with nine birdies, with the highlight being a hole-out birdie from the bunker from Patty on the par 3 16.
Also in play is the duo of Akshay Bhatia and Jennifer Kupcho, who sit three strokes back in third place. Kupcho saved the round with an incredible shot for birdie on 18 to keep them in the mix.
The final round starts on Golf Channel at 1:00 est. Sunday.
