Heading into the final round of the Mizuho Americas Open, a couple of familiar names to this event lead in New Jersey.
Despite the new venue for the event, the leaderboard looks eerily similar to 2025’s event. Jeeno Thitikul battling against Celine Boutier happened on the professional side, while Aphrodite Deng, the leader heading into the final day, won the AJGA portion of the event.
Thitikul continued her steady play Saturday with a rock-solid -2 70 to take a two-stroke lead into the final round. The No. 2 ranked player in the Rolex Rankings made an early bogey but recovered nicely in the middle of her round, making birdies on holes 7 and 8 before adding one more on 17.
Thitikul, looking for her ninth LPGA Tour win, has statistically had a bit of an off week putting for her standards, with 95 through three rounds, but her ball striking has been terrific, hitting 48/54 greens so far. If she can get a few big putts to fall, she should be in good shape.
Boutier was a big mover Saturday, firing a -5 67 in some tough conditions. She made three birdies on the front nine and added another three on the back with just one dropped shot.
It has been a long time since Boutier has won on the LPGA Tour, since her big 2023 season where she had three wins and a major championship. Boutier is looking for her seventh win overall since 2019, which is the most on the LPGA Tour by a European in that time frame.
The final round of the Mizuho Americas Open kicks off this morning.
