At one point on the back nine Sunday, Hannah Green, the No. 8 ranked player in the world, was down by six strokes. A couple hours later, after many twists and turns, Green was the winner of the JM Eagle LA Championship for the third time in her career.
Green entered the fourth round two strokes back after a fantastic -5 67 in the third round that got her into contention. Green started slow on Sunday with a +1 front nine, but immediately started hitting her stride on the back nine.
After the turn, Green made birdies on 11, 13, 14, 15 and 16. That back nine could’ve been a lot better too, as she missed a short putt on the par 5 16th for eagle.
Sei Young Kim didn’t have that same success on the back nine. Coming into the day with a two-stroke lead, she had a solid front nine and really looked in control after a brilliant eagle on 11. She made two bogeys down the stretch though on 12 and 17 to lose her lead.
The wild card of the festivities was Jin Hee Im, who shot -4 on the front nine before a brutal double bogey on 10. She responded fast though with a birdie on 11 and eagle on 16. Im’s putting on the back nine was brilliant with clutch long ones on 16 and 17.
The three entered a playoff, where Green placed her approach shot in a similar position as her regulation look for birdie. After Kim and Im made pars, Green hit a putt for birdie to win the JM Eagle LA Championship for the third time in four years.
This was 29-year-old Green’s eighth LPGA Tour win and fifth since the start of 2024. Green has won four times worldwide in 2026, twice on the LET and twice on the LPGA Tour.
