Hannah Green is going to be playing for a bit more than her third consecutive JM Eagle LA Championship title next week.
The two-time defending champion of the event, and No. 5 ranked player in the world announced she will be donating $500 for every birdie and $1000 for every eagle to the LA Firemen’s Relief Association at the JM Eagle, held just outside of Los Angeles this year at El Caballero Golf Club.
Green wrote on Instagram that it’s “Something to give back to a city that has given me a lot of joy.”
Green has finished top three in her last four appearances at the former host of this event, Wilshire Country Club, which is currently undergoing a renovation, moving the event to El Caballero.
The Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association “Is dedicated to helping the families of firefighters injured and killed in the line of duty or experiencing crisis.”
Concerning the recent wildfires that devastated the Los Angeles community in January, the association said: “Several members of the LAFD family suffered great loss themselves, when their homes burned to the ground in this unprecedented firestorm. But L.A. is showing up, like never before, for the heroes who now need a helping hand.”
The JM Eagle LA Championship will be played from April 17-20.
