For the first time, there will be a mixed team event at the Olympics for golf.
The IOC announced the new event Wednesday, along with new mixed gender events in five other sports that will debut at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
The event will take place over two days at the iconic Riviera on the Sunday and Monday between the men’s and women’s individual competitions.
There has been no official announcement of what the format will be, but the proposal from last year would include 16 teams that would play one round of foursomes and another round of fourball.
