We have reached the final day of Curtis Cup action in 2026, with the Sunday singles matches taking place this afternoon in primetime on the East Coast. The United States needs 3.5 points to win the Cup, while GB&I needs 5 points to retain. Here are our predictions for the 2026 Sunday singles matchups (All times Pacific):
2:10 – Patience Rhodes vs Kelly Xu
Right out of the gate we get maybe the best matchup on paper for the Sunday singles with Patience Rhodes and Kelly Xu. Rhodes, along with Sophia Fullbrook, have carried this GB&I team, providing three points. Will Rhodes perform as well as a solo player? Kelly Xu has had a bit of an underwhelming week, but is an absolute ace in solo match play, as evidenced by her 7-1 record at Stanford in the National Championship.
Prediction – Halve
2:21 – Sophia Fullbrook vs Avery Weed
This feels like the most straightforward match of the day. Fullbrook, as said above, has been excellent alongside Rhodes this week as arguably the best player on the team. Meanwhile, Avery Weed has struggled a bit despite her 2-1 record, particularly on Saturday. Weed should be playing free with really nothing to lose here, but I still won’t overthink this one.

2:32 – Nellie Ong vs Jasmine Koo
Nellie Ong has an extremely misleading 0-3 record this week. Her putting has looked solid for the most part and she has run into some buzzsaws throughout. She got some rest in the afternoon, which should help out a lot. If she keeps her head, I can see her pulling off the upset over Koo, who is 2-0 for the week, but has gotten a lot of help from Farah O’Keefe.
Prediction – GB&I full point
2:43 – Isla McDonald-O’Brien vs Kiara Romero
At this point, it would start getting pretty testy for the United States, but that shouldn’t be a worry for American fans as good ole Sunday singles strategy is at play. GB&I stacked their strongest players first, while the United States put them more in the middle. This should be a match with a lot of fireworks, considering these two hit the ball so far. McDonald-O’Brien has been fun to watch this week, and already has a win over Romero this week, but going up against the No. 1 ranked amateur in the world, who got some much needed rest yesterday, feels like a big ask.
Prediction – USA full point
2:54 – Davina Xanh vs Asterisk Talley
Davina Xanh hasn’t played a whole lot this week, just two matches, but that could come to her advantage. Talley is one of three players on Team USA that has played all four rounds so far. Talley is also coming off a taxing week at the U.S. Women’s Open. Who knows how all that fatigue may even everything out. My gut is that Talley still gets a full point, but this strangely feels like one of the tougher matches to call because of other factors at play.

3:05 – Charlotte Naughton vs Farah O’Keefe
How fitting would it be for the winning point to come down to Farah O’Keefe? O’Keefe has been the best player all week for the United States, coming in with a 4-0 record and really carrying the load in all of those wins. This is another one not to overthink, O’Keefe should win this match and I wouldn’t expect it to go 18.

3:16 – Lily Hirst vs Kary Hollenbaugh
It is fairly clear that both captains maybe don’t feel the most confident in these players, which explains their placement in the penultimate match. Hirst is 0-2 this week and hasn’t reached the 17th hole in either match, while Hollenbaugh has only played once in a loss. These are the type of important matches that can make a major difference if one of them catches fire. We just haven’t seen enough out of either player to make a strong prediction here.

3:27 – Beth Coulter vs Anna Davis
This is a fun anchor match between two players performing better than their records. Coulter is 1-2 while Davis is 1-3. Davis might be outperforming her record more than anyone on either side, and with her resumé, including a win at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, I think she has the advantage of experience that will help her if this match becomes important.
