In the first Ladies European Tour event of the 2026 season, the biggest European star in the world, Charley Hull, won by one stroke over South African Casandra Alexander and Akie Iwai.
Hull got off to a solid start with a birdie on the second hole of the day, but had a group of pars surrounding it.
She started to make her move on hole seven with a birdie. She was a bit up and down with a bogey on eight, birdie on nine and bogey on 10. She had a fantastic birdie on 11, then had an electric eagle on the par 5 12. She had birdies on 13 and 15, then hit a terrific, longer range putt for birdie on 18 to close out a round of 65.
Alexander got going quick on Saturday, making birdies on the first two holes. After seven pars, a bogey on 10 set her back, but she went on a birdie streak, making four in five holes on the back to get into control.
A missed green and poor putt on 17 left Alexander with a costly bogey that put the pressure on her for 18, needing a birdie to force a playoff. She did make par, but it wasn’t enough, handing Hull the win.
For Hull, this marked her fifth win on the Ladies European Tour. She has been in prime form since the mid point of the 2025 season, and looks poised to have a strong year on the LPGA Tour.
