For the second time in her career, 23-year-old Briana Chacon won on the Epson Tour, this time at the Casella Golf Championship, played in upscale New York
Chacon entered the third and final round of the Casella Golf Championship tied for the lead with Cynthia Lu and Camille Boyd at -5. On a course that didn’t surrender a lot of low scores, Chacon was phenomenal on Sunday. Chacon made a couple birdies early to take strong position.
Making the turn, Chacon immediately added another on hole 11 to move to -3 for the day. While she had one hiccup on the par 3 14, she finished strong with birdies on each of the two par 5s on the back, 15 and 17. The two birdies moved her ahead of Laetitia Beck to finish at -9 with a one-stroke victory.
This was Chacon’s third victory on the Epson Tour after her victory in March 2024 at the Atlantic Beach Classic and early this season at the IOA Championship. Chacon has been remarkably consistent in 2025, with 12 made cuts in 12 starts and now a fourth top-10 finish. Coming into the week she ranked No. 6 in the Race for the Card standings, she figures to be in strong position to earn her card this season.
Chacon was a part of the Oregon Ducks team that finished runner-up in the 2022 NCAA Division I National Championship to the Rose Zhang and Rachel Heck led Stanford Cardinal. She should be in LPGA fields sooner than later.
