The Augusta National Women’s Amateur begins today, with coverage beginning on Golf Channel at 1:30 est. To get prepared for viewing, here are five more big names to keep an eye on:
Anna Davis
Anna Davis is setting out to become the only two-time winner in the ANWA’s young history. Davis is a freshman at Auburn and ranked No. 15 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. At Auburn, Davis has two top-10 individual finishes in tournaments this year.
Yana Wilson
Yana Wilson is still a junior, set to attend Oregon next year, but she is more accomplished than most of the field. Wilson is the top ranked player in the American Junior Golf Association, and won the junior division at the Mizuho America’s Open in 2023, hosted by Michelle Wie West.
Zoe Campos
Zoe Campos (Above) is a potential Pac 12 Player of the Year at UCLA, ranked No. 10 overall in the nationwide college rankings and No. 6 in the amateur rankings. Campos has three individual wins for the Bruins this season and is playing in her first ANWA.
Julia Lopez Ramirez
Ramirez is ranked No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, and recently won the individual title at one of the biggest college tournaments, the Darius Rucker Invitational. Ramirez plays at Mississippi State, and won the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship in 2023.
Megan Schofill
Schofill’s defining moment is of course, winning the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur, but she’s been a terrific player outside of that. She’s currently ranked No. 9 in the amateur rankings while playing at Auburn. This year she has four top-10 finishes for the Tigers.
