After a Friday with frustratingly little live TV coverage because of weather delays on the PGA Tour, the Black Desert Championship will have a new home on Saturday.
Saturday’s third round of the Black Desert Championship will not be broadcast on Golf Channel, but instead will air entirely on CNBC. With this change actually comes one extra hour of coverage for the day. Initially the third round was set to begin airing at 6 PM eastern, but it will now start at 5 PM. It is now scheduled to run for four hours.
Friday was frankly, a mess. While NBC Sports was carrying the broadcast on streaming, there was almost no time for live golf. The featured groups finished about 30 minutes into the Golf Channel window, and much of the remaining broadcast was spent catching up and watching some of the later groups finish. Leader Haeran Ryu, who was playing in the top featured group, only played about 2 1/2 holes of live golf on Golf Channel.
There is no word yet on the coverage plans for Sunday, though LPGA.com still has it scheduled for its original time, starting at 6 PM eastern on Golf Channel.
