With the Augusta National Women’s Amateur kicking off this weekend, let’s take a look at some more of the competitors this week, including some of the biggest names in the field:
ANDREA REVUELTA
Andrea Revuelta, a freshman at Stanford and the No. 11 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) is making her second appearance at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. At only 17-years-old in 2024 she finished top 20. She was the 2024 Spanish Women’s Amateur Champion and has represented Spain at three Junior Solheim Cups.
MEGHA GANNE
Perhaps the name most LPGA fans are most familiar with, Megha Ganne is a junior at Stanford and the No. 12 player in WAGR. Ganne is without question most known for her performance in the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open, where she was in third place entering the final round and finished top 15. She also was a four-time finalist in the Drive, Chip and Putt and finished runner-up twice. Ganne has two top-20 finishes in her four previous appearances in this event.
FARAH O’KEEFE
Farah O’Keefe is an Austin, Texas native who decided to stay at home for school, as she is a sophomore for the University of Texas. O’Keefe was the Big 12 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year last season and won the 2024 Women’s Western Amateur Championship. In her one previous appearance in this event, O’Keefe finished tied for 20th.
ASTERISK TALLEY
Next up, we have one of the most prominent amateurs in the world, 16-year-old Asterisk Talley of the United States. Talley had a huge year in 2024, finishing runner-up in both the U.S. Girls’ Junior and the U.S. Women’s Amateur. She was also low amateur in the U.S. Women’s Open and finished top 10 in the Mizuho Americas Open junior division. Talley certainly looks the part as one of the American stars of the future on the LPGA Tour.
HANNAH DARLING
Hannah Darling of Scotland is a three-time All American for the University of South Carolina. In 2024, she won the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, one of the biggest regular season college tournaments in the country. She also won the Annika Intercollegiate earlier this season and was one of the best players on the winning Great Britain and Ireland Team at the 2024 Curtis Cup.
