The final round of the Australian Women’s Classic on the LET wasn’t always pretty, with the leading score moving closer to par on the final day, but Belgium’s Manon De Roey survived the course to take her third career championship on the Ladies European Tour.
The round started rough for De Roey. After a birdie on the third hole she bogeyed the par 4 fifth and the par 5 sixth. She immediately recovered though, grabbing a birdie on the seventh hole to finish even par for the front nine. All it took on the back was a lone birdie on the 18th hole to seal the victory by one stroke over Cara Gainer.
De Roey was consistent off the tee, hitting 11/13 fairways, and turning that into thirteen greens in regulation. She had a lone three putt on the fifth hole, but was solid on the greens other than that, converting eight one putts, six of those coming on the front.
This was her third win on the LET since 2022. The 33-year-old won the Aramco Team Series Bangkok event in 2022, then the South Africa Women’s Open in 2024.
Sarah Kemp, who came into the final round with the lead, had a bit of a rough go at it in the final round. Kemp had a costly double bogey on the sixth hole and never recovered, adding four more bogeys and just two birdies. She finished in a tie for fourth place.
