The LPGA LEAP program, also known as LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway, is underway. The new points-based program gives the best amateur players in the world a chance to gain full LPGA Tour exempt priority list status.
Players must accumulate 20 points within the set criteria framework in a given year and the previous three calendar years. The points criteria is as follows:
- World Amateur Golf Ranking – Players will earn points based on their highest career ranking
- Three Points – For WAGR No. 1
- Two Points – For WAGR No. 2 or 3
- One Point – For WAGR No. 4 or 5
- Two points for top 25 and ties in LPGA majors, one point for a cut made
- Two points for a non-major LPGA Tournament top 10 finish, one point for a top 40
- Two points for winning:
- Augusta National Women’s Championship
- European Ladies Amateur Championship
- The Women’s Amateur Championship
- World Amateur Team
- US Women’s Amateur
- Division 1 NCAA Championship Individual
- One point for winning
- US Girls Junior
- Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship
- Women’s Amateur Latin America
- Four Points for McCormack Medal
- Two Points for Annika Award
- Two Points for Women’s Golf Coaches Association Player of the Year
- One Point for AJGA Player of the Year
- One Point for Inkster Award
- Two Points for competing on a Curtis Cup Team
- One Point for competing on an Arnold Palmer Cup Team
The only player relatively close at the moment is Lottie Woad, the 21-year-old Englishwoman from Florida State who won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2024. In the last 15 years, only three players would have qualified for this program, Lydia Ko, Leona Maguire and Rose Zhang.
