Emilia Doran has won the second annual Annika Inspiration Award, given out to a woman whose impact reaches far beyond the game of golf. Former Stanford superstar Rachel Heck won the first edition of this award.
According to the Annika Foundation, the Annika Inspiration Award is awarded on the basis of: “The ANNIKA Inspiration Award allows us to celebrate the incredible contributions our alumnae are making in all areas of life. It is proof that the values learned through golf—dedication, honesty, resilience and passion—can create lasting success in whatever path they choose.”
Doran was a phenomenal golfer at the collegiate level, helping to lead Wake Forest to a Division I National Championship while also pursuing a strong playing career.
During her time as an amateur golfer though, Doran began exploring the world of broadcasting. A world in which she has excelled, becoming an absolute superstar at her craft.
Doran’s knowledge, preparation and instincts have made her one of the top on course reporters in the game despite her relatively limited experience. Anyone who has listened to Doran commentate an event has seen how her expertise goes beyond any expected level.
In the community, Doran is also involved in her local First Tee groups in the Charlotte area, and has stayed committed to truly growing the game.
