The first major championship of the season is about to kick off. Here are the odds that WGDN loves, and the ones that WGDN is more skeptical about:
Odds WGDN Loves:
LAUREN COUGHLIN – +6,000 – I love Lauren Coughlin’s odds at the Chevron Championship this year. She fits that grinder mentality that did Gary Woodland well at this very course just a few weeks ago. She also dominated the field at Shadow Creek, beating out some of the best in the world. At these odds, Coughlin feels like an absolute steal to win this tournament.
HANNAH GREEN – +1800 – Hannah Green is playing absolutely elite golf, and there is no reason to bet against it. She played three elite tournaments without even her main caddie by her side. Now, she has David Buhai back on her bag and it worked out fantastically in Los Angeles. Bet on Green to continue her fantastic form moving forward in Houston.
PATTY TAVATANIKIT – +8000 – Patty T had a great weekend in Los Angeles, back in the city she first made a name for herself at UCLA. When Patty has her game working, it is so dangerous, and she should be in good form at a tournament she has already won. Patty is in for a strong season in my opinion, and the Chevron is a good place to get that started.
Odds WGDN Is Skeptical About:
Hyo Joo Kim – + 1600 – Hyo Joo Kim has been fantastic this season so far with two LPGA Tour wins, that doesn’t count for everything though. Kim had a tough weekend in Las Vegas and withdrew in Los Angeles. She is so consistent, which will help her stay within range this week, but I don’t see her back in serious contention.
Sei Young Kim – +2,200 – Sei Young Kim had a vintage Sei Young Kim performance, for better and for worse. Kim showed serious dominance early in the week, but had some major falters as the week went on. Kim isn’t a player I have a lot of confidence in going forward, especially when it comes to winning a major championship.
Lydia Ko – +2,500 – Lydia Ko is a legend, three-time major champion with Olympic medals around her neck. That being said, she is extremely up and down since her last win in February of 2026. It is hard to ever bet against one of the greatest players ever, but this seems like a bad opportunity.
