Going into the final round of the HSBC Women’s World Championship, two Australians are at the top of the leaderboard.
After a fantastic second round 64, Minjee Lee was down just one stroke to Auston Kim, and didn’t exactly begin the third round in top form. On a day with higher scores, the three-time major champion was just even par for the day through 12, but a strong finish that included some fantastic approach shots and clutch putting gave her three birdies in the last six holes.
For the week, Lee has hit a relatively low 27/42 fairways, but has been strong with her approach shots, hitting 45/54 greens. Lee, traditionally one of the best iron players in the world, struggled in that aspect in 2025 despite her great season.
Hannah Green, Lee’s Olympic and International Crown teammate, also got into the share of the -11 lead thanks to a great -4 68.
Green got off to a better start than Lee, making two birdies on the front nine before dropping a shot on 10. She recovered quickly though with three consecutive birdies on 11-13. Green cruised in from there with five consecutive pars to finish out the round.
Coming off 2024, Green’s best season of her career where she won three times, she struggled a bit in the middle of 2025, but recovered nicely at the end of the year, giving her some momentum. She played well last week with a top-10 finish, so it looks like she is back in that form she found in 2025.
Lee and Green are the biggest Australian stars in the sport in the post-Karrie Webb era. They have combined for 17 LPGA Tour victories and four majors, while representing Australia in each of the last two Olympics.
The two Aussies lead by one stroke over Angel Yin and Haeran Ryu.
